Tasha Owen
Biography
Tasha Owen is a textile and photographic artist whose work combines original photography, digital painting, and freestyle longarm quilting. Drawing on more than four decades in photography, her work reflects a sensitivity to light, gesture, and human emotion.
Owen’s work has been shown in juried exhibitions including the International Quilt Festival, AQS QuiltWeek, and the Contemporary Quilt Arts Exhibition, and has appeared in Fiber Arts Now and Women United Art Magazine. She is based in West Branch, Iowa.
Artist Statement
My work begins with feeling—a gesture, an expression, or an unguarded moment of humanity. I photograph what I feel before translating the image into cloth.
Through original photography, digital painting, and textile construction, I build each work in layers. Quilting becomes a form of drawing, with each line of thread adding movement, time, and emotion. Rather than searching for perfection, I am interested in honesty, vulnerability, and the quiet stories held within the human experience.
Cloth gives those images a physical presence. Through it, I create work that is tactile, layered, and deeply human.

Candace Pratt
Biography
Candace Pratt is a mixed-media artist whose work brings together architectural glass and traditional basket-weaving techniques. After a career in corporate marketing, she founded an architectural glass business in 2000, creating large-scale residential and commercial installations.
A 2015 residency at Pilchuck Glass School marked a turning point in her practice, leading her toward sculptural work combining glass and fiber. Her baskets and vessels have been exhibited nationally and featured in publications including Basketry+, Novem Artis, and Excellence in Fibers.
Artist Statement
For more than two decades, I worked simultaneously with architectural kiln-formed glass and Navajo-style weaving—two practices that once seemed entirely separate. Bringing them together allowed me to combine traditional fiber techniques with contemporary materials and processes.
My vessels are built through the accumulation of materials, skills, and collaboration. Kiln-formed glass is paired with fiber, reed, yarn, and other elements using weaving techniques such as twining, plaiting, and diamond stitch. Through these combinations, I explore connection, diversity, and unity while allowing glass and fiber to exist together in a single sculptural form.
